Ramona Vreeland

Hi. I’m Ramona Vreeland, and I teach 5th grade English Language Arts at Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center. I’ve lived in Garden City for 17 years. I am also the mom of 6 kids, ages 12 to 24. I love helping kids discover joy in reading and how to have fun with words, especially through figurative language, poetry, puns and grammar. I earned both my bachelor’s degree in English and my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Kansas State University. Two accomplishments I’m proud of are earning a Master of Fine Arts degree from The University of Missouri-Kansas City and publishing a book of poetry, entitled Still Life with Dirty Dishes. I’m excited to help your kids grow as successful students, critical thinkers and creative, capable communicators—in voice and writing!
